THE EXTRAORDINARY TOPICAL AND MOVEMENT SONGWRITER-SINGER GUITARIST JIM PAGE IS COMING TO GARBERVILLE NEXT WEEKEND!
Jim has been one of us Humboldt County & Headwaters Forest activists for 30 years.
He's told the world about Julia Butterfly! About the murder of David "Gypsy" Chain! In "Oregon Landslide" he reveals the human tragedy of industrial forestry. And in the 1970s he warned of the ecological disaster that is suburbia. He's done road shows with us. He narrated the citizen takeover of Seattle to trounce the WTO in his classic, "Didn't We."
And he loves to play in SoHum! I've shot several of his shows on video, at the Garberville Civic Club and most recently at Healy Senior Center. And boy, can he play and sing!
I don't know of anyone who has written as many great songs as Jim Page. So come on down to Redwood Playhouse to welcome our friend back to town. And the show benefits KMUD! So you get a great 2-fer: A great Jim Page show and you help out KMUD!
Here is the event page for his Redwood Playhouse Premier on Saturday, April 4th at 7 PM. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets available at the door. Every day I'll be adding videos of Jim to that page until the show. Already up there is his 2012 tribute to KMUD's 25th anniversary and one of the all-time greatest resistance anthems: "Over My Dead Body!"
